In this museum of the classic Herreshoff wooden boats from the by-gone days of mono-hull racing. The visitor is taken on a journey based on their relationship to the “sea level”. An imaginary sea level is set and all the boats are lifted to this common datum. The visitor is left “below water” as if standing on the sea floor and must rise to the deck level via the hanging stairs.
